The mental health services I provide are customized for each patient. I tailor the therapy you receive to your particular, individual needs and personality. I pride myself on listening and then listening some more so that I can understand who you are: how you see things, what makes you tick.
I see successful therapy as a partnership between the therapist and the patient. I believe that you already have the strengths and qualities inside of you to change and to feel better. I see my job as helping you rediscover those resources so that you can heal and learn new ways of thinking and feeling.
All through the counseling process, I work openly with you. At any time, I am ready to answer your questions about what we are doing and why we are doing it.
In addition, I am able to coordinate your mental health treatment with your medical or other health care providers.

I am a Registered Hypnotherapist with the State of Washington. While Hypnosis often has connotations of bizarre behavior and nightclub entertainment, it is in reality a well-researched, natural, effective and time-tested approach to relaxation, self-understanding, healing, pain reduction and behavior change -- such as smoking cessation.
I am trained in the Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach to treating insomnia. This therapy, known by it's initials, CBT-I, is the preferred insomnia treatment recommended by the US Veterans Administration and by the American College of Physicians.
In most cases, treatment typically requires an average of five visits, sometimes with a little extra followup. Research has shown a positive response rate is 70 to 80 percent, with 50 percent average initial improvement. In many cases, improvement continues for months after therapy is over.
Fee per 50-minute therapy session: $140.00. (Initial, intake session is $160.00).
(There is a higher charge for a mental health assessment with report)
I accept Blue Cross Regence, Aetna and Blue Cross Premera, and United Health Care (UHC) -- now Optum -- health insurance. I will also be able to help you obtain reimbursement for services provided on an "out-of-network" basis, if your insurance plan offers that benefit.
In addition, I am now an authorized Medicare provider, accepting Medicare clients.
Private pay clients are eligible for a cash discount. Cash and personal checks are accepted from private-pay clients. I also accept credit and debit cards for both private pay and for insurance co-pays. (A small convenience fee applies to credit and debit card transactions).

Sliding Scale
I offer a generous, sliding-fee scale based on a $100.00-per-session minimum and ability to pay. I do as much as I can to assure that no one is turned away for financial reasons.
